Sustainability Plan
Building sustainability into everything we do Adkwik is proud to be environmentally responsible, providing the best quality adhesives, abrasives, sealants, and tapes while at the same time reducing our environmental impact.
We do this by constantly working with our manufacturers and suppliers to offer as eco-friendly products and packaging as possible. We also maximize our resources by reusing and recycling as much as we can. Since 2018 we have been a paperless office significantly reducing our paper consumption over the last few years. Here are some of the ways we are building sustainability into how we work.
Sustainable products
We source products and raw materials from across the world but buy British wherever possible. We ensure trading is ethical and respects human rights, visiting our suppliers and keeping in close contact at all times.
For example, our D3 PVA Adhesives are completely water-based and solvent free reducing how much solvent vapours are released into the environment. This also means there are no aggressive solvent-type products needed for cleaning.
Sustainable packaging
Our core packaging for shipping our goods is made of close to 90% recycled material. We use cardboard shredding from recycled boxes to send out your parcels and only use plastic bubble protection when necessary.
Sustainable delivery
Where possible our customers choose to bulk up their orders, buying all they need with us in one go to reduce the number of smaller deliveries. One of our core shipping partners FedEx have made commitments to Net Zero by 2040.
