Renowned Furniture Maker overcomes hold-up with jig production

As one of the leading British Furniture makers our client has been manufacturing
stylish, minimalist furniture at the cutting edge of design for over 100 years. And they are always looking for ways to challenge and hone their production methods and
streamline the process.

The Problem

Our technical experts were called in to look at reducing the cramp time on the
company’s furniture component jigs. As they work with some of the finest hardwoods
including ash, oak and European Beech, it was important to reduce bonding time,
without sacrificing bond strength.

Our Product Solution

We recommended Timbond D2 Fast Drying framing adhesive. This reduced the jig
bonding process by a massive 20% –‐ enabling the client to substantially increase
production.

The Timbond D2 adhesive also increased the bond strength due to the high solid
content within the grade.

The result

Increasing the strength of the product with a reduced production time has put the
company in a very strong position.
They’ll be producing more beautiful furniture for the next hundred years. And beyond.
