Acrylic mirror coming in sheet form is safer and lighter than its cousin, the polished glass mirror. Being easy to cut and install makes this a great product to use in displays, interior fit-out, and furniture.
Adkwik provides a range of adhesive products which can help overcome the frustrating and common problems associated with fixing acrylic mirror.
Common Problems with bonding acrylic mirrors:
- Some adhesives may contain solvents that can attack the mirror backing
- The backing on acrylic mirror can craze due to solvents in the adhesive attacking the foil
- Although much stronger and lighter than glass, acrylic mirror is subject to movement, similar to most acrylic sheet plastic
If you are bonding large areas of Acrylic Mirror…
- Good heat resistance
- Fast drying
- Non-chlorinated adhesive
- Very high solids
- Able to cover large areas quickly
How to apply L20
Spray both surfaces with a fine even coat of adhesive. Spray between 100mm and 200mm from the surface. Wait 2-3 minutes to allow the adhesive to tack off until no adhesive transfers to the knuckle when touched. Align the mirror with the substrate and press together. A roller is always recommended to apply a uniform pressure to achieve maximum strength.
How long does it take to cure?
The bond is immediate. Full cure is reached within 24 hours.

Require Easy to Use products when bonding acrylic mirrors?
Why use double sided tape?
- High Strength
- Mess free
- Straight forward to apply
- No wait for product to dry
- Provide a long-term bond
How to apply tapes
Ensure both surfaces are clean and free from dust and any surface contamination. Apply strips of tape to one surface and press down firmly. Remove backing or tape liner, align both surfaces and bring them together. Apply pressure to the surface to consolidate the bond.
How long does it take to cure?
The handling bond is immediate and full cure is reached within 24 hours.

- Crystal clear
- Universal adhesive sealant for many materials including glass, mirror and more.
- Ideal for applications where clarity and transparency are required, creating almost invisible bonds.
- Odourless sealant free of solvents, isocynates, fungicides, halogens and acids.
- Easy to use and tool
- Superior strength once cured
- High performance mirror bonding adhesive
- MS technology to give very highest bond strengths,
- Specifically designed to bond most mirrors and will not attack the mirror backing
- Good adhesion to most surfaces
- Fast curing- tack free in 10 minutes and fully cured in 24-48 hours.
How to apply Tytex Ultraclear or Mirror mate
Ensure both surfaces are clean and free from dust and any surface contamination. Ensure dusty surfaces are primed with diluted pva primer that is completely dry. Apply 6mm beads of Mirrormate/Ultraclear in vertical strips 40mm apart. Immediately place mirror in position and secure with good even pressure. Provide temporary support with tape until the adhesive is cured.
How long does it take to cure?
Full cure is reached within 24 to 48 hours.
