What are the best Adhesives for Accoya?
Accoya exceeds durability (Rated as class 1 durability, which is the best available!), stability and beauty of some of the best hardwoods. This makes Accoya one of the best modified high performance timbers, for manufacturing windows and doors and external cladding, however being treated Accoya does require care and forethought when gluing, as to what the right and best adhesives are for the job in hand to give optimum bond strengths.
Tytex 30 Minute Polyurethane Adhesive
Superseding the Timbond Platinum PU LF which had Accoya accreditation, Tytex 30 Minute gives exceptionally strong bond strengths and low foaming characteristics. The unique formula allows the Tytex adhesive to penetrate and form a good long last mechanical bond between the two surfaces. Tytex 30 Min PU wood glue is easy to apply and clean off, the resultant bond is 100% waterproof. Assembly time is 25 minutes at 20°C.

Aerodux 185 Resorcinol Resin
Proven two part Resorcinol resin adhesive primarily used for constructional laminated timbers and veneering of fire doors can be used successfully to bond Accoya. Totally waterproof and practically irreversible the Aerodusx 185 is able to break into the Accoya and forms a very good bond. Use of a suitable glue roller is recommended and having a longer open time is beneficial when assembling difficult or complex joints.
